Every year Teenage Cancer Trust invite young people from across the country, who have or have had cancer, to attend a four day conference. Find Your Sense of Tumour provides a mix of inspirational presentations, fabulous therapies and great social activities. It’s a chance to meet and share experiences with like minded individuals who know what it’s like to be diagnosed with cancer. This year’s conference took place in Sherwood Forest Center Parcs and LifewithArt was there to do what we do best. We ran a series of art, photography and jewellery workshops for the young people attending the conference.
Constellation art piece produced by the young people at FYSOT lead by LwA tutor Angel Naziah.
The doors to life ever evolving
Light days, dark days
Happy days, don’t know what to do with myself days
Dream….
I dream that….
A poem by RJC Dance
“Using the stars as our inspiration we embarked on this special effects UV art piece. Working together the young people were encouraged to add stars, poems and individual artistic statements to the piece. With a bit of encouragement and guidance they were really surprised at what they could achieve. It’s going to look amazing lit up by UV lights at the disco tonight!” Angel Naziah.
The creativity at the workshops was impressive and the fantastic pieces that were produced have been photographed to be included in a brilliant new LifewithArt Teenage Cancer Trust exhibition which will tour LifewithArt Charity Art Centres across the country in 2015.
